Key Responsibilities
As a Marine Surveyor, you will play a crucial role in assessing the safety, integrity, and compliance of various marine vessels and structures. Your main responsibilities will include:
- Conducting thorough inspections and assessments of marine vessels, offshore structures, and port facilities.
- Preparing detailed reports documenting findings, and providing recommendations for maintenance and repairs.
- Ensuring compliance with national and international regulations, standards, and codes of practice.
- Collaborating with ship owners, operators, and other stakeholders to develop risk management strategies.
- Assisting in the investigation of marine incidents and accidents to gather evidence and provide expert opinions.
- Participating in training and workshops to stay updated on the latest industry practices and technological advancements.
Qualifications
To be considered for this position, candidates must meet the following qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, or a related field.
- Certification as a Marine Surveyor from a recognized institution.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in marine surveying or a similar role.
- Strong understanding of marine safety regulations and industry standards.
- Proficient in report writing and documentation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to travel to various project sites, both domestic and international.
