Role Overview
As a Dental Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting our dental care team to deliver excellent patient services. This position will involve a mix of direct patient interaction, assisting in various dental procedures, and performing administrative tasks to keep the practice running smoothly. Key Responsibilities
- Assist the dentist during various dental procedures.
- Prepare and sterilize instruments and work area.
- Take dental radiographs (X-rays) and ensure proper protocols for patient safety.
- Provide patients with pre- and post-operative instructions as directed by the dentist.
- Maintain accurate patient records and manage dental charts.
- Schedule patient appointments and manage patient flow in the office.
- Ensure the dental office is clean and well-organized.
- Communicate effectively with patients, ensuring they feel comfortable and informed.
- Assist in managing inventory and ordering dental supplies.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, candidates should possess the following qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a dental assistant program is preferred.
- Certification in radiation health and safety.
- Previous experience in a dental assisting role is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Knowledge of dental terminology and procedures.
- Basic computer skills and experience with dental software is a plus.
